New Features on Your DataMax Enterprise Website

Standard Enterprise Website Features

At DataMax, we provide home-business  mobile creatives and entrepreneurs with professionally designed website templates that allow them to launch their business quickly, efficiently, and successfully.  All new opportunities and their supporting websites, however, are not the same in purpose and functionality.  Below are some common features on all of our templates as well as some features on specific opportunities.  We also are providing some plug in recommendations that can enhance your website’s functions.

Features of Your Hosting Plan

All DataMax Hosting Plans allocate a certain amount of “Disk Space”.

Disk space is the amount of space that is available on the server where you can store the content of your site. The content of your site includes databases, files, videos, images, and pages. In certain cases, this space can also be used for the storage of emails.

DataMax offers different amounts of disk space on plan type (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) and it varies based on hosting you choose.  For most home businesses, even our low cost Bronze Hosting Plan is adequate.  Most WordPress installation for regular business will be around 200-300 MB.  With Bronze we give you 1 GB.  This need will change, however, if you plan on, for example, storing lots of video files, etc. if you are planning to provide online courses, for example.  If required, you can upgrade at anytime from your DataMax client dashboard.

One of the most fundamental requirements for running a website on the Internet is bandwidth. The amount of data that a website may transmit to its visitors over a set period of time is referred to as web hosting bandwidth. Although disk space tends to attract more attention, bandwidth actually has a greater impact on a site’s speed and functionality.

One factor for you to consider when selecting a plan for web hosting for your domain is the cost of the amount of bandwidth you require.  The bigger your web files are, the more bandwidth they consume. In addition, the more visitors your website receives, the more bandwidth you will consume.

A large pipe can deliver more water at a time than a small pipe because a larger pipe has a greater capacity to do so. In the same manner, having more bandwidth means that more website data may be transferred at once. A pipe’s diameter determines the amount of bandwidth available for online traffic.

The bandwidth associated with a plan is normally described in terms of how much data may be sent in a certain amount of time — frequently in gigabytes or terabytes per month (See more)

Installed and Recommended WordPress Plugins

A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites.

WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. In the WordPress community, there is a saying that goes around: “there’s a plugin for that”. They make it easier for users to add features to their website without knowing a single line of code.  NOTE:  When adding a new plugin, always look for the “Compatibility Disclaimer” on the plugin’s description to make certain that plugin has been tested in your version of WordPress.

Classic Editor is an official plugin maintained by the WordPress team that restores the previous (“classic”) WordPress editor and the “Edit Post” screen. It makes it possible to use plugins that extend that screen, add old-style meta boxes, or otherwise depend on the previous editor.

Classic Editor is an official WordPress plugin, and will be fully supported and maintained until at least 2022, or as long as is necessary.

In addition, the Classic Editor plugin includes several filters that let other plugins control the settings, and the editor choice per post and per post type.

By default, this plugin hides all functionality available in the new block editor (“Gutenberg”)

This is an important plugin if you are planning on selling advertising or affiliate products on the sidebar of your blog posts. This plugin allows you to  make custom sidebar configurations and be able to choose what widgets display on each page or post of your site.

Custom Sidebars works ONLY with the classic widgets screen that was used in WordPress before version 5.8. If you want to use it with version 5.8 (and above) you have to install the official Classic Widgets plugin, or enable the classic widgets interface yourself. Once activated the plugin will work the same as before.
